Hello hello,
i love it that these synth have theyr one forum.
So i bougt a P5 rev 3.2
Damn it was a bucket.
Missing cem 3340's
Powercable was insulated with hansaplast woond stickers 8(
Power supply heats up after 5 minits
Keys poiting every way and sticky
.... bla bla bla......
My first question is about the cem 3340's
if i found my info correct i think there are different types/versions of 3340's
Would this matter soundwise?
Pins will ofcorse be the same i guess.
So when i need to buy new 3340's do i have to check for these extra type numbers or dosent it matter,
Many many thanx in advance for any help i will geth.
Sorry if my spelling is incorrect

No any date code 3340s should be fine just make sure you get tested fully working ones. Any new 3340s you install will require calibration done on those voices of course.

Thank you verry much for the info Doug,
I got the cem's.
Could you tell me what the proper way is to test, and calibate the 3340's
i think there pretty much in tune but dont know for shure.
Is there a way to test each voice individualy and simultaniusly on the keybord and how do you know when witch voice is assignd?
Is the prophet only tuneable by ear or is there a other way to do it more accurate.
Allot at once i know.
but thank you verry much for your help.

Thanx again Doug!
Your help is verry appriciated!
The 21st of this month my hollidays start and im gonna open up the monster.
I would start in following order
-Clean keycontacts and replace buschings.
-Clean all pots and knobs
here i hope to have solved the flikkering problem
-If not check and test the power supply and fit a new powercable
-Place the new 3340's
-Try to tune all voices
-Load original prersets
Hopefully that will do.
If annyone has any advice or doubt in the order or like to ad somthing
it would be verry appriciated
Thanx |
